Justice for the Fatherless – Carson Passes Court

We have good news to share about our son, Carson. Today we learned that his case passed court. He is now legally our son and we can bring him home in late January/early February.
We are grateful for the completion of this process. It has been a long year and a half.
But we recognize that the best news today is for our son, Carson.
This sweet boy has been in very good care, but care that assumed his transition into our family – and care that is intermediate by its very nature. There is no substitute for a mother and a father. Were Carson’s case not passed, we’re not sure what would have happened. It is most likely that Carson would have remained an orphan for the rest of his life. No mother. No father. And there were a number of bridges that, if not crossed, would have meant the permanent incompletion of his adoption. But today – in 2009 – half way across the world we received a phone call from someone who received an email from someone whom the Lord used to bring Carson’s case to this happy conclusion. We are happy and our happiness is bound up in the happiness that we hope to bring to the life of this little man.
Deuteronomy 10:18 says that God “executes justice for the fatherless.” What a joy to be in the way of God’s provision of a father and a mother for Carson. In Psalm 9:12, the Psalmist says, the Lord “does not forget the cry of the afflicted.” We are honored to be included in God’s response to Carson’s need.
We will update our site in the weeks ahead with travel plans. We will also update the site with videos and pictures, as we can now post these freely. He is, after all, our child!
Finally, Madalyn recently mentioned something about a get together at the airport for her brother’s arrival. She might send out an email or post something on here about that when the time comes.
Joyfully,
Trent, Kristi and Madalyn

So happy for you guys!!! Hope to meet both of your children one day, they are just precious!!!!
