Lifesong Matching Grant
Kristi and I are pleased to announce that we have been given a matching grant by Lifesong, in partnership with the Louisville Orphan Care Initiative. With this grant, contributions to our adoption are tax deductible and are doubled, dollar-for-dollar. We have until April 1, 2009 to take advantage of this grant, which matches up to $4,000 of contributions. Should contributions exceed that amount, they will be routed to our adoption, but not doubled.
We are wholly dependent on the Lord for the funding of our adoption and place no expectation upon any other person to carry the responsibility that we have joyfully taken on as our own. Kristi and I are both working diligently at our respective jobs and are thankful, especially in this economy, for work. We have many friends who are without jobs and some who are trying to sell their home.
We are grateful that we are in a position to adopt.
And we are grateful for any help you or someone you know would offer for the sake of these precious orphans. We welcome and treasure your partnership. For Christians especially, whether it be helping Carson and Madalyn or other orphans in other ways, orphan care is at the heart of our Lord’s concern.
By the time our children are with us, we expect that our adoption will cost approximately $30,000. Today, we have about $10,000 to go. Know that even $20 and $30 gifts can go a long way when they are combined with others of the same amount and then doubled. But know that we are blessed enough for your friendship, the dollars will take care of themselves.
