Picasa!

Kristi and I are exploring what it means to plunder the Egyptians in the wise use of technology for the glory of God! As we all know, computers can steal our joy by sucking away our time and attention from other more important things. I learned a long time ago, there is a connection between a bad night for my marriage and how much of the news I read online! I have a way of not listening well, getting annoyed and being altogether distant when I am reading something! On the other hand, if I come home from work with a plan to relax, read a book in the family room and just plain hang out, the evening seems to go great! That to say, the internet, with its vast horizons for the investment of our time, has a way of creating a context for imballance in my own life. The task of the Christian is to make technology, computers and the internet serve our agenda and not the other way around. I have been encouraged by how I see God getting glory in the proclimation of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the building up of his Church and the strengthening of family and marital relationships through such things as blogs, picture sites, etc.

The most recent edition to the Hunter family tech-toolbox is Google’s Picasa. As a Youth Pastor I remember thinking long and hard about ways to disseminate pictures to large groups of people. Well, sites like Flikr and Picasa are making this entirely too easy.

Check out this Web Album of our Sunday School Class!

I expect that we will be posting links to Web Albums on a regular basis.
